In GT, we were given the challenge to create a Metamorphosis Animation. Metamorphosis means to change or alternate. Kaylee, Jaycee, and I chose to do our animation about a girl named Kim and how she changes her dreams. Our focus statement was "Kim Changes Dreams".
It starts off with Kim in class, bored and eventually falling asleep. We did this scene in Stop-Motion Animation. Next, we used photoshop to create the next scene. In the first part of her dream, she is on a plane with evil gummy bears, also known as Shermanators. They push her off of the plane. As Kim is falling a magic button appears that allows her to change her dream. She presses the button and then poofs her way to Candyland. The Candyland scene was shot as claymation. There, the shermanators are back and are running towards her, to attack. Then the button appears once again. Kim touches the button and disappears but then arrives in a Video Game World. This scene was done in Photoshop. She starts to walk around and again, the button re appears along with a Shermanator. They both rush to the button, but again Kim beats the Shermanator to it and disappears into Dr. Sherman's lab.
In this scene, we used photoshop to display the fight between Kim and Dr. Sherman and his Shermanators. It first starts off with Kim entering the lab. Then, when the Shermanators see her they attack her and break her remote. Kim now has to face her fears. She fights back and beats the Shermanators along with Dr. Sherman. Then she gets pulled into a warp and wakes up back in real life. The scene where she wakes up was shot in Stop-Motion animation.
To make our video better we accompanied each scene with customized Garage Band music tracks.
